Through our partnerships with organization such as Kiva.org and Whole Planet Foundation, BlueAvocado hopes to inspire customers, vendors, and strategic partners by investing 1% of our income towards hundreds of micro—enterprises around the globe.
CARBON IMPACT
At BlueAvocado, our ultimate goal is to change the way we all think about the world and our resources as related to our lifestyle choices and behaviors. To count the impact we can make and to make our changes count. We created our impact label to educate, inspire and celebrate every time you use a BlueAvocado product.

Our eco-impact label reminds you of the change you are making of waste avoided and how you are reducing your carbon footprint. At a glance you can see:
- Waste avoided by using our bag per trip and annually
- BlueAvocado product carbon footprints from factory to your doorstep
- CO2emissions avoided by using each BlueAvocado product each trip, and each year
In 2010, BlueAvocado products have eliminated more than 46 million disposables from the waste stream, avoided 1 million pounds of carbon dioxide emissions, and upcyled up to 805 thousand plastic bottles through our fabric.
CARBON FOOTPRINT VERIFICATION METHODOLOGY
Our partner Green Mountain Energy, led the initiative to verify our carbon footprint.
We analyzed our company's sales forecasts and measured against our energy use from the factory, to the warehouse, and to the store. We then used standard industry sources, such as WRI GHG Protocols and EPA Climate Leaders, guidelines to estimate the per product footprint of each BlueAvocado product. And you'll be happy to know we are constantly exploring ways to more accurately measure and reduce our impact on the natural world.
