Meet The Team

Amy George Amy George, Founder and Chief Ozone Officer

Throughout her 20 year career, Amy has used creativity and business to deliver social, environmental and economic impact. She has worked with global Fortune 500 firms to reduce millions of metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually, helped to increase loans for micro-entrepreneurs, and improved the viability of local farmers by helping to launch the Sustainable Food Center's downtown farmer's market in Austin. Amy has focused on building systemic change that delivers compounding results. At BlueAvocado, she has helped create a "One Planet" business model built with impact at its core, and an understanding that we are part of an ecosystem - from energy to customers.

My Green Journey is About: Building a company and a brand based on delivering impact - whether its the waste we avoid, or the energy we save, or the women entrepreneurs we invest in or inspire, its the results we make that matter. That is the legacy we want to leave.

Most Proud Of: My mom. She thought I was wasting my brainpower - just making bags. She is famous for saying, "You could have been a doctor or a lawyer." Then she saw our first system of bags, and she got it. We aren't just making bags, we're making a difference. She is my biggest fan, and carries her Pods in her purse and her Big Chil in her trunk, and has lots of ideas of all the other ways we need to green her life. She loves to remind me: "There is just so much we need to do!"

Paige Davis Paige Davis, Founder and Chief Inspiration Officer

Paige brings 15 years of experience in sustainable branding, entrepreneurship, social media, ecommerce, and partnership development. Having worked with several start-ups in the Bay Area including Organic Inc. and working with Fortune 500 companies build first generation commerce sites, Paige then went on to serve as a co-founder of a local pilates studio in Austin, Texas. Paige assures BlueAvocado’s business model inspires a pathway that clears through enviro clutter and guilt and infuses engagement marketing and sustainability awareness into all aspects of the business and communication efforts. As the world continues to change at the rapid pace it does, we can no longer deny that we can each make a difference, the question is how. For Paige, BlueAvocado is the first step to "how."

My Green Journey is About: Changing the planet from the inside-out. That means reinventing every little thing I do, make and consume. Tapping into my background as a certified Pilates trainer, I see the body-mind connection in every action, and live for those sweet moments of transformation.

Most Proud Of: Receiving the following customer email after she received our product: “Thank you for proving that woman can save the world. I am happy to support your mission statement and goal for ridding our world of plastic bags. Thanks for all you do!” Sometimes we all need a little reminder of why we do what we do, and for me, it is our BlueAvocado family.

Favorite Quote: "It is simple. We are where we should be, doing what we should be doing. Otherwise, we would be somewhere else, doing something else." ~Richard Stine

Melissa Nathan Melissa Nathan, Founder and Chief Innovation Officer

For Melissa - BlueAvocado is about the people. It is about starting a business with women she loves, creating a community of people that care, and most important finding joy in coming together. Melissa brings over 20 years of marketing, non-profit and international business experience to her founding role as Chief Innovation Officer. My Green Journey is About: Treating the world the way I love to be treated — with kindness, compassion and lots of good mojo. As a mom of a seven and five year old, my big "aha" was about proudly accepting the fact that I'd rather have a clean conscience than a spotless kitchen. So my journey is not about being militant, it's about being mindful. Ohmmmmm.

Most Proud Of: Our strategic secret weapon - the "chil factor" - head to toe goose bumps means we are a go!
